The Arabic people actually speak in Cairo
Speak real Egyptian Arabic in 10 minutes a day
Order koshary, haggle in Khan el-Khalili and chat with your in-laws within 30 days. Bite-size lessons, Egyptian audio and an AI partner that talks like a Cairene.
Free forever for Units 1–2. No credit card.
Read it your way:
- ezzayak? / ezzayek?إزيّك؟How are you? (to a man / to a woman)
- ana 3ayez... / ana 3ayza...أنا عايز... / أنا عايزة...I want... (said by a man / by a woman)
Direct is normal in Egypt. "Ana 3ayez" isn't rude, especially with "law sama7t".
- ma3leshمعلشNever mind / sorry / it's okay
Cairo's most useful word: a light apology, comfort for a friend, or "let it go" all in one.
Why learn the dialect, not MSA?
Most Arabic apps teach Modern Standard Arabic — the language of news and books. Use it in a Cairo taxi and you'll sound like a newsreader. Egyptians speak Masri at home, with friends and on the street, and thanks to Egyptian cinema it's understood across the Arab world.

Questions
Is this Modern Standard Arabic?
No. Yalla Masry teaches only Egyptian Arabic (Masri), the dialect spoken in Cairo and understood across the Arab world thanks to Egyptian films and music. MSA appears only as an occasional comparison note.
I studied Modern Standard Arabic. Is this for me?
Yes. Most Masri words share roots with MSA, so you'll move fast. Start with our free Fusha-to-Masri guide, then the lessons and AI partner will get your MSA sounding like Cairo.
Do I need to read Arabic script?
No. You can learn entirely in Franco-Arabic (how Egyptians text, e.g. ezzayak?) or plain English letters. Arabic script is always one tap away when you're ready, and our free alphabet trainer gets you reading it.
How long until I can actually speak?
Lessons take 5–6 minutes. At 10 minutes a day you'll finish the free Units 1–2 (greetings, introductions, ordering food and paying) in about two weeks, and all 36 lessons in five to six weeks, with review and AI practice along the way.
What does the AI partner do?
It plays a friendly local — a koshary cashier, a taxi driver, your partner's mum — replies in Masri, corrects one mistake at a time and suggests what to say next.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes, any time. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and your progress stays with your free account.
